Disrupting Health Dis- and Misinformation in the Patient-Care Setting: Open Educational Resources for Nurse Education

Project Description

Our team will develop a suite of openly-licensed digital learning modules that teach nurses effective techniques for responding to and mitigating inaccurate health information shared by patients. Supported by the ULS, HSLS, School of Nursing, Teaching Center, and Disinformation Lab, this transdisciplinary initiative will address learning objectives at the intersection of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing essential competencies and the Association of College and Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy, ensuring that the modules are aligned with best practices across disciplines. The outcomes from this project will benefit nursing students and their future patients at Pitt and beyond.
