Ethnic Studies Research Incubator (ESRI)

Project Description

The Ethnic Studies Research Incubator includes three programs: 1) The Faculty Collaborative Research Incubator connects scholars with Ethnic Studies-focused research agendas across the humanities, social sciences, professional schools, medical humanities, and data sciences. 2) Undergraduate Research Fellowships offer hands-on inquiry and mentorship to build cultural competency and critical thinking. 3) Undergraduate Experiential Internships use locally-based projects to cultivate skills addressing global issues. The program will deliver enduring transformative opportunities for faculty and students, and expand Pitt’s profile in inclusive research innovation, undergraduate development, and community engagement by addressing the significance of race and ethnicity in American society through multidisciplinary perspectives.
